I’d like to start this section off with a little disclaimer.  I am the ultimate program junkie.  I hear about them, I become intrigued, and then I listen.  Most that I have gotten have offered valuable advice and insights.  Many programs have exercises for the user to do to really gain value from them.  Here is where I fall from grace.  Often my curiosity takes me from one program to the next without taking the time to really delve deeply into them and gain whatever mastery they are offering.  Mea culpa.

So when I describe something, I may not be able to claim results that I shoulda coulda gotten had I really done them properly.  Please keep that in mind when determining for yourself whether something is worth trying.

One more thing.  As far as self-improvement, spiritual development programs go, you can’t beat Nightingale Conant for excellent, clearly presented programs in a myriad of interesting areas.  They have a one-year money-back guarantee, so if something you order simply doesn’t float your boat, send it back.  Once you get on their mailing list, you’ll receive offers to try a program for a month for one dollar.  If you like it and don’t return it, they’ll charge your credit card when the month is over.  It’s a great honor system and a way to sample something without spending your money up front.  I’ve done this; kept some and sent some back with no problem.

Learning Strategies also has a broad range of excellent programs.  Some are extremely in-depth fields of study, such as the Diamond Feng Shui and PhotoReading programs, so they tend to be more comprehensive and thus more expensive.  Expect homework!   Learning Strategies also offers a lot in the area of brain training—i.e., neural linguistic programming, paraliminal programming, and other cool systems that can change your life if you actually learn and apply them.  The company offers a 30-day money back guarantee, along with free coaching on their major programs.

Another great company to check out is Mindvalley, a cutting-edge self-improvement company run (from my perspective!) by youngsters with super ideas and technologies. They develop very user-friendly programs with well-known experts such as Laura Silva, whose father created Silva Mind Control in the 60’s, but which has now been refined into The Silva Method. When you buy a program, you are given access to it online in the Mindvalley library.  You can either download all the files or use them directly from the site.  My only beef is that Mindvalley doesn’t seem to have a central products site where you can view everything they have available.  If you are on their mailing list, you’ll get periodic notifications about new programs.  I suggest you sign up for their newsletter, FinerMinds, because it has excellent content and you’ll learn about their programs.

These, of course, aren’t the only companies offering good programs; they may be the largest, however, so I suggest you browse their websites if your curiosity needs a boost.  Some programs are offered directly by the author/expert.

The following programs are listed in alphabetical order (by author/expert).  There will be more to come, so check back soon.

The Secret to Deliberate Creation

Robert Anthony   downloads

I heard Dr. Anthony speak via a teleseminar, and I was blown away enough by his presentation to immediately order his program.  He has been studying the mind and how it works for three decades now.  I have just started the program so can’t speak to its results yet, but this one has me really excited. It is a combination of metaphysical principles and self-hypnosis.  One of the reasons it appeals to me is that he explains all the principles he uses very well—a “big picture” approach beneficial to people who learn like I do.

Much of the general information is not new to me; I’ve been hearing it in bits and pieces ever since I got into metaphysics.  But his presentation is so clear, succinct, and “scientific,” that it is all falling together in a way that it didn’t before, and it captures the spiritual principles I’ve been learning as well.  I have a tendency to get programs, listen to them to sate my curiosity, and then set them aside (yes, I’m one of those people he talks about in his introduction!), but this isn’t going to be one of those programs.

I have listed it here to give you the website if you want to get started yourself, but I do plan to update this listing as I progress through or finish the program if you want to hold off.  The site leads you to a hyped sales letter, but if you can get past that, I truly do believe this program will deliver.

Zero Resistance Weight Release Solution

Dr. Robert Anthony

Here’s another program along the same vein as the above, but hones in on the specific topic of weight reduction.  Dr. Anthony explains how the conscious and subconscious work and the reasons why people gain and retain excess weight (through emotional eating and emotional obesity) and why diets alone do not work over the long haul. Once these principles are explained, he goes into specific self-hypnosis techniques, including an initial “core” session to be listened to once and short am/pm sessions to be listened to daily until your desired weight is achieved.

If weight loss is your primary goal, you might want to start with this program as it costs less than Deliberate Creation.  I haven’t done it, so I can’t speak to its effectiveness, but it sounds good to me!

Integral Enlightenment

Craig Hamilton

“Awakening to an Evolutionary Relationship to Life”

I haven’t taken this online course yet, but would be very interested to hear from anyone who has.  I recently read an email from Craig Hamilton that really made me think.  In brief, he said that he has gotten a lot of inquiries from people who say they have been on a spiritual journey for years, but don’t feel very evolved.  He goes on to talk about the need to look beyond our own growth to the growth of everyone on the planet as part of our “oneness.”  Once we embrace the concept that we are all in this together and that we are here to help each other grow, great evolution will follow.

The Highest Level of Enlightenment

Dr. David Hawkins

Offered through Nightingale-Conant, 6-CD set

This is one of the first metaphysical programs I bought when I really started to develop this passion of mine several years ago.  I highly recommend it, and it doesn’t come with homework!

Anyone who starts contemplating “existence versus non-existence” at the age of three has got an edge over the rest of us, I’d say!  Dr. Hawkins, a renowned psychiatrist, chronicles his past in this program, and it includes a near-death encounter as a teenager where he experienced the bliss of God, as well as a crisis of faith in middle-age that took him out of the world and into a hellish abyss, where (as I understand it) he eventually experienced the death of his ego and became a body of pure consciousness directed by God. (He said he never knows what’s going to come out of his mouth now until he says it.)  He covers a lot of really fascinating metaphysical info, which in itself is worth listening to.

However, the meat of the program revolves around his study of kinesiology, or muscle testing, which can determine the truth or falsity of a statement as well as a person’s level of consciousness.  The body goes weak when a false statement is made; strong with truth. It all has to do with non-local energy that affects the body when the statement is made.  No, I don’t pretend to understand it, but he’s tested it for three decades on multitudes of people across the world. Dr. Hawkins explains how to do the muscle testing in the program.

Dr. Hawkins has developed a “map of consciousness,” verified through muscle testing.  It is based on a scale of 1 to 1000.  The level of integris begins at 200, starting with courage, and rising up through reason, love, peace, and illumination to pure enlightenment at 1000, the level  where one truth resides. Here you’ll find Jesus, the Buddha, andKrishna.  Below 200 are pride, anger, fear, guilt—all those negative, nasty things we are trying to rise above.

At the time of Buddha, mankind as a whole averaged 90 (Dr. Hawkins has determined all this through muscle testing).  At the time of Jesus, it had risen to 100.  Mankind experienced a leap in the late 1980’s, going from an average of 190 to 207 with the fall of the Berlin Wall and the worldwide harmonic convergence. Dr. Hawkins describes this as one of the most important spiritual happenings in human history.  Some more factoids:  Hitler was 70 and Winston Churchill was 510.  Gandhi was 700.  Many corporate CEOs today are under 200.  At 421, theUnited Stateshas the highest average in the world;Haitihas an average of only 40.  The Middle East averages 180-190; Europe, South America, andRussiaare in the 300’s;ChinaandMexicoare around 400.  Remember, these are only averages of the people living in those countries, and this is just a sampling.

If you go to the Nightingale Conant website for this program (link is above), there is an excellent description of muscle testing and how it can help you determine truth in your life.  The program itself is full of fascinating information about people, places, and even situations and how they rate on this map of consciousness.

But I learned a lot of other interesting things such as these:  the moment of your death is determined at the moment of your birth by karmic intention, so if you’re faced with a life/death situation, be a hero(!); the soul first enters a fetus around three months; evolution is the unfolding of creation and there is no conflict in the theories; we are reincarnated and our level of consciousness is already determined at birth (which may affect which country we are born in); the spirit lingers for about three days after death, so don’t do a cremation right away; 85% of humanity is still below 200 on the map of consciousness; and here’s a biggie:  death is safe.

I can’t go into everything here—and there is plenty more—but suffice it to say there is a ton of fascinating information in this program.  If you are on a spiritual journey, this is an important way station.

Michael Mackenzie

Offered through Project Meditation; 10-CD set or downloads

Lifeflow is a brain entrainment program that helps synchronize your creative right brain with your analytical left brain.  The more whole brain activity you have, the easier it is to reach a deep meditative state, with all its health benefits.  The Lifeflow program consists of 10 CDs or downloads.  Each CD takes you to a deeper level, starting with alpha brain waves and working down to delta.  The aim is to go slowly—spend a month or two at each level, as using the program can stir up deeply held emotions.  The technology combines binaural beat and monaural and isochronic tones with soothing background sounds, like ocean waves or rain. Each level lasts for 40 minutes.  The website describes the technology and its benefits very clearly.

I selected this particular entrainment program to try because it was a lot less expensive than its better-known counterpart, but offered technology that sounded more advanced.  I have not been disappointed. It really does take you into a deep meditative state, and I honestly can say that my thinking is clearer than it used to be. Supposedly, serotonin and HGH growth hormones (which are anti-aging) are released into your system, and this makes you feel good as well as provides health benefits.  The website description promises pure bliss.  That’s pushing the envelope in my view, although some people may experience it.

Here is some information excerpted from the website:  “LifeFlow has been specifically designed using extremely precise frequencies that resonate and impact the body at a cellular level. You can truly feel your meditation on a physical level, in surges of positive energy and a flow of deep heartfelt emotions. Our choice of frequencies are based on extensive biofeedback research. Scientific research has proven that advanced meditators (who can reach deeper levels) develop the ability to use their whole brain and to live in a more balanced state characterized by brain synchronization and whole brain functioning.

“The purpose of meditation is going within, to the space in each of us that is peaceful, still and beneath the multitude of busy distracting thoughts. To rest in this place a little each day creates so many immediate and long term benefits.”

Try it yourself.  There is a free eight-minute sample on the website.

The Dream Builder Course

Mary Morrissey

“The Spiritual Side of Success”

90-day online coaching class with live bi-monthly teleconference calls

I’ll start this off with the disclaimer that I haven’t actually taken this course.  Not yet anyway.  But I have listened to Mary Morrissey’s tele-class, in which she previews the basic principles of the course.  The Dream Builders course is designed to do just that – help you clarify your big dream, overcome limiting beliefs, and take action to bring it to fruition.  The basic principles are 1) clarify your vision (what is within you is greater than anything in your surroundings); 2) the power of paradigms (structure of beliefs of how the world works); and 3) support structures (harnessing the mind in a support structure).

Mary Morrissey is an internationally known coach who harnesses spiritual principles achieve success.  She is a fantastic presenter.  Just listening to her anecdotes of the barriers people have overcome to realize their dreams—and how they did it—is inspiring.

I believe she periodically cuts the price of the course when she officially launches a new session, so if you are interested in this, you might want to get on her mailing list so you’ll know when a new session is starting.  Start by signing up for her free Dream Builder tool kit, which includes an audio class. It’s at  You’ll also begin to receive her short daily inspirational messages—something I really enjoy.

If you have used any of these programs, or would like to talk about others, please share your experiences in our forum!
